About 40 Myanmar nationals arrested on illegally entering Thailand

SI SA KET, June 7 (TNA) - Combined government forces have apprehended 42 Myanmar people, including a four-month-old baby, and charged them of illegally entering Thailand. Acting on a tip-off, combined government forces raided a warehouse in a village of Kantharalak district in the northeastern province of Si Sa Ket and arrested 42 Myanmar migrants. Police said they also arrested a 46-year-old Thai woman who owned the warehouse and allegedly let the Myanmar people stayed there. The Thai woman identified as Orawan Boonthum told police that she had just bought the land with the warehouse last Friday and an unidentified agent sent them to work with her. She said she had paid 2,500 baht for each worker as fee to the agent. Police said they had charged Mrs.Orawan for providing shelter to illegal migrants, who will be later repatriated. (TNA)
