Achievements Made in Developing Koryo Surgery

Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University in the DPRK has made achievements conducive to the development of Koryo surgery. One of them is a treatment of severe acute pancreatitis highly appraised among patients and medical workers for reducing inflammation by injecting abdomen with Koryo medicines to draw out infectious liquid from the vicinity of pancreas. It is said that the treatment ensures higher cure rate and faster recovery. The college also completed the methods of preventing peritoneal adhesion with marine products and healing wounds with new medicinal solution containing Koryo medicines. And it has updated several medical books like "Koryo Phrenology" and "Koryo Surgery". -0-
