Achievements Made in Producing Custom-built Equipment

Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- The Taean Heavy Machine Complex in the DPRK is busy with the production of custom-built equipment nowadays. In recent months alone, the complex has made great achievements in manufacturing various pipes, steel castings and other processed products necessary for such projects as the construction of Tanchon Power Station and Hungju Youth Power Station No. 4 and establishment of C1 chemical industry. Its casting shop finished cast products for hydraulic turbine to be installed at the Hungju Youth Power Station No. 4 and others ahead of schedule. Its heavy machine shop processed in a short span of time various products like heavy sheets for making precision desulphurization tower and vertical separation tower which are parts of custom-built equipment necessary for the establishment of C1 chemical industry. And its pipe-making shops introduced effective production processes and various jigs into production, thus making it possible to finish the processing of pipes ahead of schedule. The Taean Electric Appliances Factory and other affiliates of the complex have brought about a great improvement in production of custom-built equipment. The complex is a modern heavy-machine producer which manufactures heavy, medium and small electric facilities and custom-built equipment for the development of the national economy. It is also the birthplace of the original socialist economic management system created under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung early in the 1960s. -0-
