Additional trains prepared for returning holidaymakers

BANGKOK, April 16 (TNA) - In expectation of extraordinary passenger traffic returning to the capital after Songkran break, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced that it has prepared an additional five trains for today and was confident that no passengers will be left stranded. The SRT has already made preparations to cope with the massive nationwide exodus back into Bangkok after Songkran between April 15 - 17. Reports from Hua Lamphong Station in Bangkok indicate that arrivals have begun since yesterday and will peak later today. Additional special trains have already been prepared for increased passenger traffic with an additional 4 trains on April 15 to handle 102,649 returning passengers on that day alone. This evening's arrivals are expected to be the highest Two additional trains will be made available for tomorrow. (TNA)
