AGU President receives Egyptian ambassador

Manama, May 21 (BNA): President of Arabian Gulf University (AGU) Dr. Khalid Abdul Rahman Al-Ohaly received Egyptian Ambassador to Bahrain Suha Ibrahim Rifaat to discuss means of joint cooperation in the field of scientific research between AGU and Egyptian universities. The Ambassador of Egypt asserted deep ties binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries with Egypt, commending the role played by AGU in serving issues of concern to the GCC, and its contribution to the graduation of acclaimed medical, educational and technical cadre on a regional level. The AGU President invited the ambassador to tour the university and its academic departments, during which she inspected the scientific departments in the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences and the Virtual Hospital in the Medical Simulation and Skills Center, which teaches students how to conduct medical examinations and work in operating rooms through the use of electronically programmed mannequins that simulate the reality of diagnosis and treatment. The ambassador discussed with Dr Al-Ohaly the possibility of training exchange medical students in Egypt and AGU to study some electives and enhance cooperation in medical scientific research and other scientific departments and Egyptian universities. She commended AGU’s outstanding level, which elevates the educational process, especially in medical study, and the Egyptian faculty members working in the university with distinguished experiences in teaching and scientific research.
