Al Marri Re-elected Chairman of National Human Rights Committee

Doha, October 05 (QNA) - Members of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) have re-elected Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri as chairman for another term, with Dr. Youssef Mohamed Obaidan chosen as vice chairman. The committee made the decisions during the first meeting of its fourth session in the presence of representatives of the civil society and the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The meeting reviewed a set of issues, notably the regular biannual report. It also formed three sub-committees, namely: report and legislation preparation committee, monitoring and visits committee, and research and studies and committee. The first meeting of the fourth session was held after Emiri Decision No. 40 of 2015 that stipulated the new formation of NHRC. (QNA)
