Al Meera Opens 41st Outlet at Muraikh

Doha, May 24 (QNA) - Retail major Al Meera Consumer Goods Company Sunday announced the opening of its 41st branch at Muraikh. The Qatar Stock Exchange-listed company also runs five outlets in the Sultanate of Oman. Al Meera Consumer Goods Company Deputy Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani did the opening ceremony honours in the presence of Al Meera board member Mohammad Abdulla Al Mustafawi Al Hashemi other officials and mediapersons. Speaking at the event, Al Qahtani said, "Al Meera continues to apply its motto 'Your Favourite Neighbourhood Retailer' and providing residents a unique and convenient shopping experience at all our branches." The 5,500 square meters Muraikh branch, matching international standards, has 1,200 sqm of supermarket area. The outlet offers shoppers a wide variety of food and non-food related items as well as fresh products. It also includes a butchery, fishery, delicatessen, fruits and vegetables area and bakery. This branch has 19 shops and four restaurants - to be opened soon - in addition to a small playground area for kids. Al Meera said it will open six more branches this year in Jeryan Nejaima, Thakhira, Al Wakra, Al Thumama, Al Wajba and Rawdat Ekdeem. Al Meera is currently constructing 14 new shopping centres located in Sailiya North, Bu Sidra, Al Wakra2, Umm Salal, Leabaib 1, Leabaib 2, Rawdat Aba El-Herran, Azghawa, Al Khor, Um Qarn, Rawdat Al Hamama, Jeryan Junaihat, Al Sailiya and Ain Khaled. Al Meera will be ready to open its new branches after obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses from relevant authorities. Once complete it will have a network of 56 branches spread all over Qatar, the retailer said. (QNA)
