Al-Ray: Qatar Qualified to Lead UNESCO for Its Role in Solving Development, Educational and Cultural Issues

Doha, October 09 (QNA) - Al-Raya newspaper highlighted State of Qatar's Keenness in leading the problems of development, education and culture in all poor countries and its continued support for educational, youth and cultural projects, as well as its Keenness in establishing broad partnerships with international organizations to implement joint projects in these countries.   It stressed that Qatar's interest in the world heritage and its role in establishing dialogue between cultures and civilizations confirm that HE Qatar's candidate Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari has prepared to solve all the problems of UNESCO and its various files in cooperation with the UN in the "Educate a Child" program, which resulted in the education of 10 million children around the world. the paper pointed out that the world's attention is heading today to the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, where the voting will be held for the election of the 11th General Director of the Organization, succeeding Bulgarian Irina Bokova, who has held this position during the past eight years. Al-Raya said that Qatar's ambition through its candidate program and its vision for the organization is not to win the Director-General post, but to serve the international community and to work on implementing new programs that contribute to spread peace, awareness and culture. The Qatari daily also stressed that Dr. AlKuwari is well qualified to assume the position of Director-General of UNESCO not only for his academic and scientific qualifications, but also for his accumulated experience in the field of culture, information, and politics, and that his program is suitable to solve all the problems that face the UNESCO organization.
