Al-Raya, Al-Watan Highlight Establishment of Self-Storage Container City

Doha, January 13 (QNA) - In their editorials on Tuesday, Al-Raya and Al-Watan newspapers highlighted the self-storage container city project in the Bojoud area on Al Majd Road opposite Birkat Al Awamer which will provide excellent service to all citizens and residents, especially that it includes spaces for storing camping equipment and machinery instead of placing them in homes, companies, farms or vacant lands in random ways that distort the general view. The two newspapers explained that this project will include all the capabilities that are of interest to individuals and mobile container companies in the areas of storage and distribution in easy ways and at prices that suit everyone. Al- Raya said in its editorial that this project "Container City", which is expected to be operational in the first half of 2021, aims to provide logistical services related to distribution, storage and compensation for violating stores that are to be removed from farms and unqualified areas, as well as using government lands to provide areas for storing camping equipment, bicycles, and machinery, etc., The Qatari newspaper said that the project ensures that hygiene requirements are not violated after the end of the camping season and the accumulation of its equipment in residential neighborhoods and vacant lands, in addition to achieving an investment return and providing a distinctive service that can be developed in the future in line with the emerging requirements. This project in an area of 310,884 square metres, has an important strategic location in the southern region of Doha on Al Majd Road and near a number of highways and major intersections leading to Hamad and Ruwais ports, free economic zones, Mesaieed Industrial, Ras Laffan, the airport and metro stations enabling it to serve the largest number of areas in the country, the newspaper added. Al-Raya concluded by saying that the establishment of this project will help in avoiding encroachments and storage on the State's lands, especially since the law forbids this, and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment has carried out campaigns over the past two years to remove encroachments on farms and on vacant lands, therefore, the container city project was the result of this effort, and the ministry will establish similar projects in other areas in the country.
