Al-Raya Commends Qatar's Plans to Host 2030 Asian Games

Doha, November 12 (QNA) - Qatari newspaper Al-Raya noted in its Thursday editorial the plans submitted by the Doha 2030 Asian Games Bid Committee to the Evaluation Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to host the 2030 Asian Games, affirming the State of Qatar's insistence on hosting the event again, which would be exceptional and unprecedented in view of the accumulated experiences that Qatar possesses in the field of sports through hosting various regional and international sports tournaments. The newspaper said that it is not unusual for Qatar to present its file to host the 2030 Asian Games, especially as it succeeded in hosting a historic tournament for the 2006 Asian Games, which accelerated Qatars march to become a major contender on the regional and global sports stage. Qatar, through affirming its desire to host the 2030 Asian Games, confirmed that it still has a major role to play in Asia and the world as one of the leading sports countries, especially after it succeeded in winning the honor of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Al-Raya added. Doha will be fully ready to host the 2030 Asian Games due to its world-class facilities and advanced infrastructure, Al-Raya confirmed, adding that Qatar realizes that hosting the 2030 Asian Games is a source of inspiration for a new generation of athletes, not only in Doha, but in the region and the world at large. The newspaper pointed out that Qatar hosted a large number of international sports tournaments that were organized at the highest levels of quality, which would enable it to organize an unprecedented version of the Asian Games. It stressed that Qatar would be a winning bet for the 2030 Asian Games. Al-Raya concluded its editorial by stating that Doha hosting the 2030 Asian Games would leave a tremendous legacy to be cherished by future generations, given that Qatar has prepared clear plans and visions regarding its hosting of the session, including its motives and how it will make it exceptional, because Qatar is aware of the importance of sport and its role as popular diplomacy, noting that the Asian continent is promised an exceptional and unprecedented tournament.
