Al-Raya Praises New Achievement of Hamad International Airport

Doha, May 12 (QNA) - Qatari newspaper Al-Raya praised in its editorial Tuesday the new achievement of Hamad International Airport (HIA) which ranked the "Third Best Airport in the World", among 550 airports worldwide, by the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards 2020. Rising from fourth position in 2019 to third in 2020, HIA has been steadily rising in the World's Best Airports rankings since the start of its operations in 2014, the paper said, noting that it is a new achievement and a source of pride for the State of Qatar and its restless efforts to achieve success in various fields. Al-Raya added that this honor comes directly from the passengers who have shared their experiences travelling through HIA through SKYTRAX surveys, which affirm the airport's successes despite all the challenges that the aviation sector faces today. The paper noted the significance of this award as the most important international airport awards, and the most prominent prestigious awards that have become a global standard for excellence in the world. In addition, HIA has been voted the Best Airport in the Middle East for the sixth year in a row and Best Staff Service in the Middle East for the fifth year in a row, which will reinforce the determination of the competent authorities to continue operations at the airport in these difficult times, in parallel with their full attention to implement all precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of travelers and employees. These achievements are a result of the hard work and determination demonstrated by the airport staff, to make HIA the 'worlds fastest growing airport', the paper added. These remarkable achievements represent a new recognition of Qatar's strategic economic accomplishments, Al-Raya concluded. (QNA)
