Doha, October 06 (QNA) - Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the humanitarian gesture as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education honored more than 100 teachers in public schools of various nationalities who spent nearly 30 years in the service of the educational process and the preparation of future generations. The newspaper said that this honor reflects the State of Qatar's respect and appreciation for all efforts made to support its renaissance, especially those made by teachers who contributed to the upbringing of generations and support for the achievement of development in the State of Qatar. This virtual celebration of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the World Teacher's Day under the slogan "messenger of science, thank you," is an appreciation of the role of veteran teachers in preparing good citizens over time, the paper said. Al-Raya affirmed that the educational process enjoys the attention of the State of Qatar at the highest levels, as the basis for the renaissance begins with the educational process, and preparing generations with knowledge and good education is not only the responsibility of families but extends to schools. The Qatari daily said that Qatar through this humanitarian gesture, confirms the attention that the teacher receives, as they are the most important component of the educational system, referring in this regard to HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi's praise for teachers and his affirmation that their role was, and will remain essential and crucial in providing education for the students, as they have proven that they are leaders and role models in a time of crisis, performed their duties in spreading science and knowledge despite the dangers of the pandemic, carrying on themselves a supreme responsibility that they believed in its importance, and did their duties to the fullest. The newspaper pointed out the world is currently witnessing sensitive and exceptional circumstances with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected all aspects of life, especially the educational process, adding that Qatar was ready for any changes, as it kept up with the repercussions of the circumstances and moved to distance learning with ease and flexibility. The last school season in the country was successful despite the pandemic, and in the current school season, the country accumulated its experiences and provided blended and distance learning for the students, benefiting from its enormous potential and advanced technological infrastructure, and the secret behind this success was the teacher, the paper said. Al-Raya concluded by saying that the teacher was qualified for these challenges and stood firmly, energetically and devotedly in the face of these circumstances. (QNA)
