Doha, August 09 (QNA) - Qatari daily Al-Raya underlined in its editorial Thursday the strength of the Qatari economy which is based on solid foundations and has overcome the unjust siege.
The Qatari economy, the paper said, has achieved the expected growth rates, pointing out that the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics revealed that the estimates of GDP in the first quarter of 2018 amounted to about QR160.44 billion at current prices, compared to the same period of 2017 of QR 149.93 billion, an increase of 7.0 percent.
All these figures confirm that all economic sectors recorded a remarkable growth supported by indicators compared to the economies of the siege countries which suffer from recession and successive crises, Al-Raya said.
Qatar's professionalism and high flexibility in handling the siege crisis is praised by everyone, the paper said, noting that when the GDP in the first quarter is 7.0 percent higher, this is a clear indication of the strength of the Qatari economy and its ability to cope with crises. The State of Qatar is also an investment partner that enjoys full confidence, the paper added.
According to estimates by international organizations, the Qatari economy will continue to grow and achieve record rates that surpass the siege countries which suffer a significant decline in their GDPs and lost foreign investors, the newspaper underlined.
The State of Qatar has established new partnerships with global markets, maintained its high export rates and has been able to fulfil its obligations to supply its partners with energy, especially liquefied gas, despite the restrictions imposed by the siege countries and their unjust efforts to damage the Qatari economy.
