Al Rayya, Al Watan Dailies Hail HH the Emir's France Visit as 'Strategic Gain'

Doha, June 25 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's official visit to France has witnessed a series of agreements, and strengthened economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries, editorial comments published by Doha-based Arabic-language dailies Al Rayya and Al Watan said today. HH the Emir's talks with French President Francois Hollande are important from the point of view of bilateral ties between the two countries which evolved into strategic partnership, particularly in political and economic fields, Al Rayya said. The daily described HH the Emir's visit as an opening of a new chapter in bilateral relationship which will benefit people of both the countries, adding the French people are proud of Qatar's achievements in France, specifically Qatari investments. Al Rayya said the talks between the two leaders gives an opportunity for further convergence of ideas and consultation between the two countries to discuss pressing issues in the Middle East and Maghreb nations. The editorial stressed the mutual desire of both Qatar and France to scale up business and trade ties. Al Watan's editorial said, "Qatar has been and will remain an advocate for freedom, tolerance and an impartial moderator to resolve contentious issues." The wise leadership of Qatar has put forth this vision. It will not alter this stance. These are the fundamentals of Qatar's vision and political stance in international crises, the daily said. One of the most important political values in Qatar is the freedom of expression, the daily said. The country backs the right to freedom of expression in the world, not just in this region. Qatar plays the role of a mediator and facilitator to find solutions in a peaceful manner for parties involved in a conflict anywhere in the world. Qatar will maintain the stance of a neutral intermediary. It will tirelessly work to overcome differences, and help find solution to disputes through meaningful dialogue, Al Watan said. (QNA)
