Al-Sharq Affirms Qatar's Solidarity with Palestinian Cause

Doha, May 16 (QNA) - Al-Sharq Qatari newspaper affirmed the State of Qatar's strong and firm position and its full solidarity with the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. Al-Sharq pointed out that Qatar's stance towards the Palestinian cause was reaffirmed by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in his Twitter account on Tuesday, in which HE expressed Qatar's solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people in their legitimate demands for the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. The paper added that in view of the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian demonstrators on Monday and the demands for an international investigation into these appalling violations, HE the Foreign Minister welcomed the efforts exerted to carry out an independent investigation into the Israeli massacres and violations against innocent civilians who fights against the brutal Israeli occupier. Moreover, the Qatari daily noted that the region cannot tolerate more tension and bleeding, as stressed by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. From this perspective, the international community must have a firm stance to stop Israeli violations and respond urgently to the demands of the Palestinian people, the paper added. The State of Qatar's stance, the paper said, is based on moral and legal constants that consistent with international references that do not give the occupation any legitimacy, and therefore all actions taken by the occupation authorities are illegal under international law. In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the State of Qatar affirms its full solidarity with the Palestinian people as well as its support for international efforts to achieve a lasting, just and comprehensive peace and for a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders.
