Al-Sharq, Al-Watan Hail Agreement of South Sudan for Peace and Stability

Doha, August 08 (QNA) - Al-Sharq and Al-Watan newspapers hailed the final agreement to end the civil war and share power in the Republic of South Sudan, which was signed in Khartoum between the country's parties, to bring peace to the world, Africa and the Middle East and through which Sudan could turn a page on a war-laden past. The agreement, the papers said, will transfer Sudan towards a new phase of construction, development, peace and harmony. In their editorials Wednesday, the two dailies referred to Qatar's welcome to the signing of the agreement and considered it a Qatari commendable approach to consolidate security, stability and peace in all parts of the world. Qatar's welcome to the agreement also came in the context of Doha's efforts to end wars and support dialogue and negotiation as means of resolving conflicts and ending crises that have burdened peoples who only want to live in freedom and dignity in countries that respect human beings and appreciate their lives and freedom, the papers said. For its part, Al-Sharq said that Qatar plays a pivotal role in establishing peace and stability as part of its directions to support its brothers and the African continent, pointing out that this regional role has been appreciated by international organizations and peoples because it is based on the diplomacy of reconciliation, helping, and promoting development as an essential foundation for achieving stability, and bringing together the one-nation parties through reconciliation that has led to a remarkable peace in many of the region's files, including the Darfur peace. In conclusion, Al-Sharq called on all parties to the peace agreement to preserve it and adhere to all its terms. In turn, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed in its editorial that the State of Qatar's efforts to promote global stability and peace are recognized throughout the world. The paper said that everybody know the great roles played by Qatar in bringing peace by hosting parties to conflicts or urging actors involved in crisis to sit down for dialogue and ending war for global peace and security. In this regard, the newspaper hailed the South Sudanese agreement to end the civil war and share power in the Republic of South Sudan, which was signed in the capital Khartoum, to bring peace to the world, Africa and the Middle East. Moreover, the paper noted Qatar's welcome to the agreement and considered it a Qatari commendable approach to consolidate security, stability and peace in all parts of the world. The paper also said that the Qatari praise for the active and pivotal role made by Khartoum in bringing the views closer together and bridging the gap between the parties until they reached this important moment came in the context of Doha's efforts to end wars and support dialogue and negotiation as means of resolving conflicts and ending crises that have burdened peoples who only want to live in freedom and dignity in countries that respect human beings and appreciate their lives and freedom. Al-Watan concluded that the voice of reason must be used and dialogue and negotiation should be used as the most effective way to end conflicts and crises. (QNA)
