Al-Sharq Highlights Qatar's Economic Success Despite Siege Countries' Conspiracies

Doha, June 11 (QNA) - Qatari daily Al-Sharq underlined that a year after the Gulf crisis, the whole world is unanimous that the State of Qatar succeeded in countering attempts of violating its sovereignty, undermining the independence of its decision and affecting its economy. The State of Qatar, the paper said, has not only succeeded in confronting the conspiracies against it, but has moved forward to achieve an economic growth rate of 2.6 per cent this year, according to the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) expectations, adding that this week, Fitch Ratings has revised Qatar's outlook to stable. In its editorial Monday, the paper said that Qatar was able in a short time to open new trade routes, promote self-sufficiency, change investment and labor laws to push the economy toward more robust levels, as well as continue the huge infrastructure projects according to scheduled plans. The newspaper pointed out that the Gulf crisis itself has a positive effect on the State of Qatar, as it revealed the strength of cohesion between the people and leadership, represented by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Thanks to HH the Amir's vision and wisdom, the country was able to overcome the conspiracies of the siege countries and, with the recognition of the whole world, has become stronger than ever, Al-Sharq concluded.
