Al-Sharq Underlines Depth of Qatar-US Economic and Investment Partnership

Doha, May 28 (QNA) - Al-Sharq Qatari newspaper highlighted the depth of the economic and investment partnership between the State of Qatar and the United States. In its editorial Monday, the newspaper noted the common will of the two countries towards developing and strengthening this economic and investment partnership in view of the available potential and promising investment opportunities. In this regard, Al-Sharq underlined the meetings of the US-Qatar Business Council and the positive results expected to come out from these meetings, which come after the success of the first round of economic roadshow that was launched in the United States in April. The daily said that that the meeting of the US-Qatar Business Council comes in light of the measures adopted by the State to encourage and attract investments, including the foreign investment regulation law recently approved by the Cabinet, pointing out that this law will open the way for foreign investors to hold 100 percent ownership in all sectors and support the entry of foreign investors to the Qatari market. The meeting, the paper said, touched on the positive outcomes of the first stage of the State of Qatar's economic roadshow, which started in April in the United States, as well as the preparations for the second stage of the tour. The paper also referred to the affirmation of the Executive Director of the US-Qatar Business Council Mohammed Barakat in which he said that the State of Qatar is a strong business partner of America and that Doha has embarked on an impressive journey to diversify its economy and the new measures make Qatar the preferred destination for US businessmen and companies looking for partners in the region. In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the results of Qatar's economic plans are beginning to bear fruit and send a message to the international business community that Qatar is a place of security, peace, stability and successful investment in the region.
