Al-Watan Affirms Qatar's Keenness to Support Joint Gulf Action

Doha, December 08 (QNA) - Al-Watan newspaper affirmed in its editorial on Tuesday that the Qatari relations with the State of Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman are distinguished by depth and mutual respect and keenness to enhance and develop them for the benefit of our countries and people. The newspaper said that the communications between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the Amir of the State of Kuwait HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sultan of Oman His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq came as confirmation of Qatar's keen stance on all that would enhance joint Gulf action and support it. Al-Watan explained that since the beginning of the Gulf crisis, Qatar has consistently affirmed its appreciation and respect for the Kuwaiti moves aimed at ending it, which were initiated by HH the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to contain the crisis, which is the path that HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, continued. The newspaper praised Kuwait's sincere fraternal stances, and said that it is also necessary to recall the stances of the Sultanate of Oman and the roles it played, which are highly appreciated and respected. The newspaper mentioned that the His Highness the Amir, during a phone call Monday morning with his brother, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness for the estimated efforts made by the State of Kuwait to preserve Gulf unity, especially the benevolent endeavors initiated by His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to contain the crisis and his constant concern for the unity of the Gulf countries and people. It noted that during the call, relations between the two countries and ways to develop them were reviewed, in addition to the most prominent regional and international developments and decisions that would enhance joint Gulf action. Al-Watan concluded by referring to the contact that His Highness had with Sultan of Oman, during which the close brotherly relations between the two countries were reviewed. (QNA)
