Al-Watan, Al-Sharq Highlight Qatar's Political, Diplomatic, Economic Visions towards Different Issues

Doha, August 31 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers Al-Watan and Al-Sharq said in their editorials Thursday that while the free world continues to listen to the political, diplomatic and economic visions of the State of Qatar, it founds no contradiction whatsoever in Qatar's attitudes towards the various transformations of events and issues. The two newspapers highlighted the remarks made by HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani at a joint press conference on Wednesday with his Russian Counterpart Sergey Lavrov in which HE said that lifting the unjust siege on Qatar is a priority and not only sitting at the negotiating table. The papers stressed that HE the Foreign Minister's remarks confirm Qatar's firm position that there is no negotiation under the existence of this siege. Al-Watan and Al-Sharq said that this fair demand reflects not only the government's position, but also the popular stance, especially after the siege countries have become in a real trouble with the Qatari people who have been greatly harmed by these unjust and inhumane measures. Al-Watan pointed out that these important facts were known to the observers while they were listening yesterday, with great admiration, to the contents of the vision of HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, which deals with the overall official position of the State of Qatar towards the crisis created by the siege countries, during the joint press conference. Many important signs were included in the statements of HE the Foreign Minister, particularly his confirmations that the State of Qatar was open to an unconditional dialogue to end this crisis, the paper said, pointing out that in this context, HE the Foreign Minister talked about the importance of the foundations laid down by the wise Qatari leadership to resolve the crisis, based on respect for the sovereignty of the country and the independence of its decision. Al-Watan concluded that the view by the various international powers towards Qatar's continuous efforts to end the fabricated Gulf crisis is fair and assert that Qatar stands in the right position in respecting the international law and refusing to be subjected to dictates, noting the efforts of countries that adopt the position of good mediation, especially the State of Kuwait. Under the title "lifting the siege before the dialogue," Al-Sharq newspaper referred in its editorial today to HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani's statements at a joint press conference yesterday with his Russian counterpart in which HE said that lifting the unjust siege on Qatar is a priority and not only sitting at the negotiating table. Al-Sharq said that HE's statements were a confirmation of Qatar's firm position that there is no negotiation with the existence of this siege. The newspaper said that this fair demand does not only reflect the government's position, but also the popular stance, especially after the siege countries have become in a real trouble with the Qatari people who have been greatly hurt by these unjust and inhumane measures. The newspaper pointed out that despite Qatar's adherence to dialogue, the decision-maker is fully aware that the siege countries' statements since the beginning of the crisis are contradictory and contrary to logic and ethics. Therefore, the paper said, Doha did not deal with them seriously. The Qatari daily said that Qatar's renewal of its welcome to constructive dialogue to resolve the Gulf dispute comes with the aim of reaching binding settlements for all parties to the crisis, not a specific party, and away from dictates or preconditions. Al-Sharq concluded by saying that resorting to dialogue between countries requires mutual trust between them, respect for the sovereignty and the decision of each state, as well as respect for international law and norms, which are not found in the siege countries which did not leave any means to harm Qatar and its people and residents. It is clear, the paper said, that the siege countries call for dialogue, but they are not serious about it, in order to avoid regional and international pressure, especially after the world has been assured of their injustice and coercion.
