Al Watan Highlights Qatar's Position in Support Gaza Strip

Doha, May 04 (QNA) - Al Watan daily newspaper confirmed in its editorial on Monday, that Qatar's position in support of the Gaza Strip was one of the most prominent positions in support of the sector at all times, especially in times of major crises, with active diplomatic and political support, as well as material support for the relief of the sector and its people. In this context, the newspaper noted that Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, in cooperation and coordination with the Qatar Fund for Development, has started disbursing cash assistance to 100,000 vulnerable families in the Gaza Strip, explaining that the cash disbursement takes place through the post offices, where each family received USD 100. The process of distributing cash assistance is carried out in cooperation with the relevant government agencies to meet safety standards for beneficiaries and to preserve sufficient distances between them, as part of preventive measures to address the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The newspaper said that the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza exacerbated the situation in the strip, which necessitated Arab mobilization to support Gaza. Al Watan concluded its editorial by saying that Qatar will not stop supporting the Gaza Strip and all Palestinian lands in their primary battle to build a free and independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, ending the blockade of the sector, and ending all forms of occupation of Palestine.
