BANGKOK, Oct 2 (TNA) - Doctors are now awaiting medical tests whether a baby suffering from a small head and another baby to be born in the next four weeks are suffering from the deadly Zika Virus. Dr. Tawee Chotpitayasunon, an adviser of Public Health Ministry’s Medical Services department said currently, only two babies with abnormally small heads are confirmed to have suffered from the deadly virus. Dr. Tawee said although the symptoms of Zika Virus is found to carry severity in pregnant women, as many as 30 per cent of babies could be born crippled. The percentage could be reduced to just one per cent if pregnant women are found to carry the disease when pregnancy is between 6-9 months. He advised pregnant women to rub anti-mosquito repellant and also for the husband to wear condom when having sex during the early stage of pregnancy to protect themselves from the virus. (TNA)
