Algerian Navy Ship To Arrive At Malaysia's Port Klang Tuesday

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- An Algerian Navy (TLRRA) ship is scheduled to dock at the Boustead Cruise Centre (BCC), Port Klang at 8.30 am Tuesday. The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Headquarters, Ministry of Defence, in a statement Monday said the Edhaffer (920) Corvette will be docked at the BCC from Tuesday until Oct 8. "The ship under the command of Lt Col Ali Yahi is the first among three C28A Class Corvettes ordered by TLRRA from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Company, Shanghai, China," the statement said. According to the statement, the purpose of the ship's visit to Port Klang was to replenish supplies and rest before continuing their voyage back to Algeria. The arrival of the ship will be greeted by RMN coordination and intermediary officers, Lt Kdr Amirudin Azman and Lt Mohd Zahin Ramli as well as embassy staff and representatives of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). The ship measuring 120 metres long and 14.4 metres wide was commissioned in 2015. It has a top speed of 27 knots and staff strength of 120. -- BERNAMA
