All districts in Prachuap Khiri Khan declared disaster areas

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, April 15 (TNA) - All districts in Thailand's upper southern Prachuap Khiri Khan Province have been declared disaster areas after they were hit by storms last weekend. The disaster-hit areas were declared by Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Veera Sriwattanatrakul on Sunday, saying that Sam Roi Yot, Muang and Thap Sakae Districts were hardest hit by the storms. The governor acknowledged that the declaration has enabled the provincial disaster prevention and mitigation office to quickly help disaster-affected locals, as a latest survey found that 445 local houses and 85 fishing boats were damaged; while many power poles fell down by the summer storms Prachuap Khiri Khan Province was hit by the summer storms on Saturday afternoon, coupled with heavy downpours and high waves of up to four metres in the Gulf of Thailand.
