All Thai areas ready for "Bike for Dad" event

BANGKOK, November 23 (TNA) - Bangkok and all Thai provinces are now ready for the "Bike for Dad" cycling event, set on December 11, 2015, to celebrate the 88th birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on December 5. Grisada Boonrach, Permanent Secretary for Interior, told journalists on Monday that over 500,000 people are expected to participate in the nationwide "Bike for Dad" mass cycling event. Grisada said in each province, there will be also an exhibition on His Majesty the King’s royal projects for the nation, set from December 11 to 13. Grisada advised participants to take good care of their health, check their bicycles and follow traffic rules. According to the senior official, governors of all Thai provinces will receive royally-sponsored presents, including special cycling jerseys, at the auditorium of the Suan Amporn Park on December 2. The senior official confirmed that the participants who have registered for the upcoming nationwide cycling event will surely receive the presents. The December 11 "Bike for Dad" event will be live televised nationwide although participating cyclists will not reach the finish lines simultaneously due to difference in their local areas. (TNA)
