Ambassador Rejects Hostile Claims Against Iranian Medical Centers

Baku, Aug 13, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador in the Republic of Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakaeen rejected claims of certain anti-Iran Azeri circles against Iranian medical centers. Appreciating efforts of the Iranian medical staff in providing services to Azeri patients, he blasted hostile accusations by certain Baku media and circles against Iranian medical centers describing those accusations as targeted and biased. Talking to IRNA, Pakaeen made the remarks in reaction to the allegation of some Azeri press that carried false reports on alleged “hostage taking” of an Azeri child in a hospital in the city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran because of the parents’ inability to pay the treatment costs. He added, while a remarkable number of Azeri citizens were, in very favorable conditions, taking advantage of Iran's advanced medical equipment and high skilled staff and centers, certain circles in Baku are, unfortunately, trying to distort realities. The ambassador said he expected Azeri health ministry officials to contact eligible sources in Iran to find a just and fair view of the case instead of allowing those media to publish false reports. Stressing that no one has ever encountered any problems in Iranian health system because of poor financial situations; the ambassador said the child mentioned in the biased report was moved to a special hospital to receive more treatment. He went on to underline that the Iranian healthcare system and staff will never be affected with such negative remarks in providing services to patients./end
