ANAMA clears 2.293,167 sq. m. from UXOs and mines in January

Baku, February 7 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijan National Mine Action (ANAMA) has cleared 2.293,167 sq. meters area of land from Unexploded Ordnances (UXO) and mines in January. ANAMA found 8 tank mines and 1469 UXOs. Demining operations involved 484 deminers, 6 mechanical demining machines and 36 mine detection dogs. To date, ANAMA has cleared 216.585,066 sq.m. of land, destroying 677,639 mines and UXOs. The Agency has carried demining operations in the regions of Aghdam, Aghchabadi, Aghstafa, Fuzuli, Tartar, as well as Kirdagh mud volcano of the Absheron province and Guzdak settlement of Garadagh district.
