Ancient Fossils Found In Northwestern Iran

Maragheh, East Azarbaijan province, June 2, IRNA – Iranian paleontologists have found several eight-million-year old fossils in Maragheh in northwest Iran, a local official announced here Sunday. Managing Director of Maraghe Department of Environment Mikaeel Naqavi said the fossils include some species of elephant, rhino and anti lobe (small herbivores) including Gazelle. He noted that the fossils would undertake further C-14 testing./end
