Andaman Hub Medical Network proved successful

PHANG NGA, March 17 (TNA) - The ‘Andaman Hub Medical Network’ project has proved successful even after its establishment almost a month ago as it could help as many as 145 tourists around the Similan and Surin national parks. Public health officer of Phangnga province, Dr.Samart Thirasak said his office has cooperated with the provincial naval base since the project started on February 19 to assist local and foreign holidaymakers visiting islands in Phangnga. So far, the special unit has given service to 145 tourists, including 28 Thais and 117 foreigners. Out of this number, 53 cases received emergency medical assistance for illnesses and 92 cases suffered injuries. Besides that, two stranded foreigners, British and German tourists, were helped sent back to the mainland during the period. (TNA)
