Another friendship society opens in Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On Monday, the 71st "Japan and Mongolia" friendship society opened in Tokyo city, Japan. It has been founded by arts and society activists from the Ota district of Tokyo. They have aims to support the works of Nagisa Abe who plays on the Mongolian Morin Khuur /stringed national musical instrument/, to have the Japanese society know more about this unique instrument, to boost Mongolia-Japan ties in education, culture and arts, and to widen a cooperation between the private sectors of our countries. Mr Nagisa Abe was awarded the Grand Prix at the first international festival of Morin Khuur in the UB city in 2008, attended a training that was run by Mongolia's State Morin Khuur Ensemble, and performed a solo concert "Wind of Mongolia" in the UB city May this year. Moreover, he has toured with Morin Khuur concerts through Japanese cities, S.Korea, China and Spain.
