AOT confirms full operations at Don Mueang Airport from October 1

BANGKOK, September 26 (TNA) - Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has confirmed that Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport will fully resume its aviation services as of October 1, 2012, after its temporary closure for post-flood rehabilitation since late last year. AOT President Aniruth Thanomkulbutr acknowledged on Tuesday steady progress of the rehabilitation and the improvement of the Don Mueang Airport, now a main domestic airport, saying that AOT has closely coordinated with concerned government offices, airlines and relevant business firms to ensure their fully-resumed operations at the Don Mueang Airport from October 1 onward as well. Aniruth noted that all flights of Thai AirAsia, a growing low-cost airline in the region, will, for instance, gradually fly from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport to the Don Mueang Airport during the nighttime of September 30 to fully begin their aviation services at the Don Mueang Airport as of October 1. As for transportation between the two airports, the AOT chief told reporters that there will be shuttle bus services only for air passengers, free of charges, from 5am-10pm every day, to facilitate those who travel by both domestic and international flights.
