Arab Permanent Postal Commission Meets in Doha

Doha, December 16 (QNA) - The Arab Permanent Postal Commission, during a meeting held in Doha, decided to extend Qatar's hosting of Arab Postal Stamp Museum to five years, ending in 2018.    The decision was taken during the 27th meeting for the Commission held in Doha on Monday. The two-day meeting is to discuss ways of promoting joint Arab action in the postal sector.    Building on to Qatar's success in hosting the Arab Postal Stamp Museum for two consecutive years, the Commission decided to extend the period for five years, said Acting Chairman General Postal Corporation Abdul Rahman Al Aqaili.   Talking to reporters, Al Aqail said that the Arab Commission will refer its decision to the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information for final approval.   The Commission discussed the matter of hosting the next edition of the Arab postal stamp exhibition, and chose the Libyan capital Tripoli to host the event as Tripoli will be the Capital of Arab Culture in 2014 .    The participants also reviewed the recommendations of the working group on expenses which held its 15th meeting in Doha yesterday. They also discussed development issues at the Arab level and the latest updates and technology used in postal services today. (QNA)
