Argentina to get access to state-of-the-art Russian nuclear technology - Putin

MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. The participation of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom in the construction of a nuclear power plant unit in Argentina will make it possible for that country to get access to state-of-the-art Russian technologies in the nuclear power sphere, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with his Argentinian counterpart Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. In the presence of the two countries’ leaders, Rosatom and Argentina’s Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Argentina. "Rosatom joined the project of building the sixth power unit of the Atucha Nuclear Power Plant. Implementation of agreements reached today in the sphere will ensure for Argentina access to state-of-the-art Russian technology matching the toughest nuclear security requirements," Putin said.
