NARATHIWAT, THAILAND, July 26 (TNA) - Army Chief General Teerachai Nakwanich is visiting the violence-plagued Thai Far South to follow up updates in the southernmost Thai region, including a military realignment plan. Accompanied by his entourage, General Teerachai arrived in Narathiwat Province on Tuesday morning to hold a meeting with chiefs of local security units. The Thai army chief was also scheduled to present awards to excellent units and to be briefed on the updated situation in the southern border region. The army commander-in-chief was also set to look into a military realignment plan for 2017, as the Internal Security Operation Command (ISOC), Region 4 Front Command, will withdraw troops under the supervision of the 1st Army Area Command, the 2nd Army Area Command and the 3rd Army Area Command from the Thai Deep South, maintaining only those under the supervision of the 4th Army Area Command to take care of security in the region.
