Army strong enough to defend country: Commander

Tehran, April 19, IRNA – Iranˈs Army is strong enough to defend the country against any type of aggression, Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi said on Friday. Army strong enough to defend country: Commander Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of National Army Day ceremony in Tehran, he noted that Iran has reached an acceptable level of deterrence in the defense arena. In recent years, Iran has secured great accomplishments in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems, the senior commander added. He underlined that the Islamic Republic has repeatedly said its military might poses no threat to other countries. Iran marked National Army Day with nationwide parades being held around the country.
