Arrest of wanted fugitive, homemade bombs seized

Manama, May 26 (BNA): The General Director of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science announced on Monday the arrest of a wanted fugitive and the confiscation of a number of weapons used for terrorist activities. The weapons were found in a warehouse in Sitra while medicines were seized from another building in the same area that was being used as an illegal clinic. The arrestee told investigators where the weapons and medicines could be found. The confiscated items include both ready-to-use homemade bombs as well as bombs that were not yet completed, explosive material, a homemade shotgun, bullets, iron rods, fire extinguisher guns and tyres. The General Director said the bombs were dismantled by the Anti-terrorism Unit and legal steps were taken for all procedures to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
