Art Bahrain opened

Manama, Oct. 12 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM King, and President of the Supreme Council (SCW), deputised His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, to inaugurate ARtBahrain Exhibition in Bahrain Bay, which kick-started today, and will continue until October 16. His Highness Shaikh Abdullah, the deputy patron of the event, praised the international classic art content of the professionally organized expertise of the arts show over the years which blends between Bahraini art which expresses heritage, genuineness, frank feelings expressed through impressive paintings intertwined with lines, colours and intricate ornamentation. His Highness lauded the harmonious display of various artistic tastes which supports modern artistic of modernism and development which provides huge opportunity to enjoy and cogitate such high sense of creativity and excellence. HH Shaikh Abdullah toured the various pavilions of ArtBahrain Fair and closely viewed several artistic masterpieces of various shapes which showcased classic painting in acrylic colours, sculpture, digital photography and modern age structures. ArtBahrain team expects the event to be a meeting place for artists, gallerists, cognoscenti and art lovers from around the world to share space, ideas and inspiration with local artist, giving the fact that Bahrain has a refined appreciation and talent for art and artists, which makes it a great location for hosting such a prestigious international art fair. Held in partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Tamkeen, is sponsored by many sides such as the GHF financial group, the Bahrain Airport Company, the Bahrain Development Bank, Moda Mall, the Rolls Royce cars, the Four Season Hotel, DHL company, Miracle company, Café La Vazza and a number of leading media establishment in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Highness Shaikh Abdullah expressed his pride in the Kingdom of Bahrain's arts movement, its high attainment akin to international schools of art which undoubtedly express the identity of Bahraini people and residents, lauding the national efforts in hosting arts shows which placed the name of Bahrain on the global map in this arena which affirms the Kingdom's attentiveness to support and caring for cultural and artistic activities and portrays the value of art and innovation in all fields. His Highness Shaikh Abdullah praised the efforts of the sponsors of this show, including private and governmental institutions, especially considering this partnership a solid basis to depict the Kingdom's urbane image and to make such artistic shows as one of the components of tourism which the Kingdom seeks to promote to boost its prestigious position and geographic location as well as its ancient history of supporting arts throughout the decades. ArtBahrain will go a long way in encouraging individuals and companies to invest in art and showcase the kingdom’s suave image through taking interest in fine arts. To be held for the first time in the kingdom, ArtBahrain will attract about 170 acclaimed world artists, including the leading world artist Sacha Jafri, who will exhibit one of his best 10 art works between 1996 and 2014 in one place for the first time. A number of galleries will take part in the fair, including the UK-based Albemarle Gallery, Al Riwaq, from Bahrain, the Arab Fine Arts Hall in Saudi Arabia, Marsam Mattar (Dubai Art Gallery) and the Marsa Gallery from Tunisia. ArtBahrain will be open for art lovers from Tuesday to Thursday between 11:00 and 19:00, and will exhibit various forms of art including classic painting classic "Acrylic" colors, sculpture, digital photography, among others. The fair features a series of interactive workshops and forums conducted by experts to encourage new collectors to interact with artists in order to know more techniques, and hone the skills of art lovers.
