Artists get nursing home in Tehran

TEHRAN,Oct.2(MNA) – A nursing home was inaugurated in Tehran on Monday evening to provide service to Iranian artists. Iran’s Welfare Organization Director Homayun Hashemi, and veteran actors Ezzatollah Entezami and Iraj Raad attended the opening ceremony of the center. The facility, which has been named after Entezami, was established by the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) in collaboration with Iran’s Welfare Organization. The Ezzatollah Entezami Nursing Home for Artists is a place offering service to veteran artists around the clock, and a team of experts are also available to help them in their homes, Homayun Hashemi told the Persian news agencies on Tuesday. Iraj Raad also said that the house enjoys physiotherapy care section, however it is not a medical center and the elderly are only looked after in this place. He added that artists who have long acted and now are left alone need a place to refresh their old memories, meet friends and review the films and plays they have acted in. Entezami also expressed his happiness over the establishment of the center and said that he doesn’t like to see any artists to live and die in loneliness. The nursing home is located in Velenjak neighborhood in Tehran.
