ASEAN: High Level Task Force Concluded Three Documents To Develop ASEAN Community

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN Community Vision 2025 is one of the three pillars that has been successfully concluded during the 10th High Level Task Force (HLTF) meeting on ASEAN Community’s Post-2015 Vision, that ended here Sunday. The two-day meeting that was chaired by HLTF Chairman and representative of Malaysia to HLTF Hsu King Bee also concluded two other documents namely the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and three blueprints of ASEAN Community. "The meeting that started on Oct 2 was attended by Chair of HLTF-EI WG Ravidran Palaniappan and Acting Chair HLTF-ASCC, Dr Victor Wee Eng Lye as well as other HLTF Representatives from ASEAN Member States and their respective delegation," said Wisma Putra (Malaysian Foreign Ministry) in a statement Sunday. According to the statement, the HLTF Chair will submit the final draft of the Integral Document to the ASEAN Coordinating Council Working Group (ACCWG) by Oct 15 this year, following the endorsement and approval of blueprints by the respective ASEAN Community pillars. "The ASEAN Vision 2025 in essence, underlines the determination of the Leaders as stated in the Nay Pyi Taw Declaration to shape a bold and forward-looking future for ASEAN for the next decade, which further enhances and consolidates the ASEAN Community building and integration process. "This vision aims to realise a politically cohesive, economically integrated and socially responsible as well as a truly rules-based, people oriented, people-centred ASEAN, particularly in its post 2015 era," the statement said. -- BERNAMA
