ASEAN Meets 10 Dialogue Partners In KL

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- ASEAN is meeting its 10 dialogue partners, including world powers like the United States, China, Russia and Japan, in the Malaysian capital Wednesday. Besides these countries, the meetings dubbed the Post-Ministerial Conferences involve ASEAN's separate meetings with its six other dialogue partners, namely Australia, Canada, India, South Korea, the European Union and New Zealand. The US delegation is led by Secretary of State John Kerry (in the picture). Malaysia, in its capacity as ASEAN chair for 2015, hosted the 48th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting Tuesday, followed by the Post-Ministerial Conferences and Related Meetings Wednesday and Thursday. The ASEAN-Japan and ASEAN-Canada Ministerial Meetings kicked off Wednesday's proceedings at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here. On the sidelines of the meetings, the 8th Mekong-Japan Foreign Ministers Meeting, 5th Mekong-South Korea Foreign Ministers Meeting and the 13th Southwest Pacific Dialogue Ministerial Meeting will also be convened.
