"ASEAN Week" organised in Bangkok

BANGKOK, March 3 (TNA) - The Thai government, through the Public Relations Department (PRD), has organised the "ASEAN Week" event in the heart of Bangkok from March 3-5, aimed to create public understanding about the ASEAN Community (AC), as part of national preparations for the formation of AC by the end of this year. MR Panadda Diskul, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office, presided over a ceremony to open the "ASEAN Week" event, themed "We are ASEAN", at an open space in front of the Central World shopping centre in the capital's Ratchaprasong area on Tuesday, in which ambassadors and representatives of embassies of other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) participated, along with a caravan of 200 bikers. Knowledge and information on each ASEAN member state and the AC formation, as well as relevant exhibitions, Q and A sessions and material-cum-cultural shows from ASEAN Embassies in Bangkok are also part of the three-day event. Visitors are also welcome to take photos with ASEAN symbols as their souvenirs. (TNA)
