Asia-Pacific youths exchange water knowledge

CHIANG MAI, May 18 (TNA) - Youths from countries in Asia and the Pacific on Saturday exchanged knowledge on water and on how to maximize benefits from water consumption. Declaring their intention after a meeting organized in parallel with the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit, being held in Chiang Mai Province in the Thai North, representatives of the youths told reporters that the young participants in the meeting have now realized the importance of natural resources, especially water. The representatives said the participating youths also urged the Ministry of Education in the region to share the responsibility by adding a curriculum on water conservation for students from kindergarten to undergraduate levels. Teachers from 32 Thai schools, meanwhile, declared that they would ask the government to lay out educational guidelines in which students would care more on how to utilise natural resources, especially water, properly, rather than scoring examination marks.
