Assets of Yingluck's Cabinet declared

BANGKOK, August 26 (TNA) - Thailand's National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has disclosed assets and liabilities of Cabinet members in the previous government of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, one year after their departure from office. According to the NCCC's latest disclosure on Tuesday, ex-deputy prime minister and education minister Pongthep Thepkanchana remained the richest with a total asset of 358,594,497.64, while his wife and children had total assets of 2.66,316,403.85 baht and 11,041.37 baht respectively. They, thus, had a total net asset of 3,014,921,942.86 baht. On June 30, 2013, Pongthep, his spouse and their children had a total net asset of 2,921,857,894.79 baht. Former social development and human security minister Santi Prompat had a total asset of 5,204,416.68 baht, while his wife had a total asset of 9,338,819.63 baht. They both had a total debt of 534,549.92 baht; so, their net asset amounted to 14,008,686.39 baht. Former deputy prime minister Police Captain Chalerm Yubamrung had a total asset of 74,718,052.28 baht, while his wife had a total asset of 96,373,365.34 baht; so, they had a total net asset of 171,091,417.62 baht. Compared with August 10, 2011, when he first took office, Chalerm's net asset dropped by 10.4 million baht, while his spouse's total net asset rose by 2.5 million baht. The one-year anniversary of the Yingluck administration's departure from office fell on June 29, 2014 and the legally-required asset declaration concerned 13 former Cabinet members holding 14 positions.
