Aung San Suu Kyi to visit Thailand June 23-25

BANGKOK, June 20 (TNA) - Myanmar State Consellor and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand during June 23-25 as the guest of the Thai government. Accompanied by his entourage, including Myanmar Labour, Immigration and Population Thein Swe, Minister of Planning and Finance Kyaw Win and Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor of Myanmar Kyaw Tint Swe, Suu Kyi is scheduled to first meet Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, who invited her to visit Thailand, at Bangkok's Government House and to later meet Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital. Main discussions of both sides later this week will include bilateral cooperation on labour and development and connectivity projects. Both sides will also ink memoranda of understanding (MOU) on labour cooperation and employment beneficial to the Myanmar and the Thai private sector and Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand. Besides, the Myanmar state consellor will visit Myanmar migrant workers in Bangkok's neighbouring Samut Sakhon Province and Myanmar refugees at a temporary shelter in Baan Tam Hin of Ratchaburi Province in the central region.
