Austria aids Thailand's anti human trafficking and child abuse

CHONBURI, THAILAND, December 20 (TNA) - Austria has granted some 2.39 million baht to support Thailand's attempts on anti-human trafficking and child abuse in all forms. Austrian Ambassador to Thailand Botschafters Dr. Johannes Peterlik presented the financial assistance on Thursday, when leading his delegation to visit the Stop Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Centre (ATCC) in Thailand's eastern Chonburi province. ATCC Director Palisorn told journalists that the grant followed Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner's visit to Pattaya in July and saw the importance of providing the financial support to Thailand for national efforts against human trafficking and child abuse. Thailand's ATCC provides assistance and protection under the law to homeless children and beggars, as well as children who are victims of prostitution, child trafficking and abuse. The centre currently has 75 children under its care. (TNA)
