Authorities take measures against forest fire

RATCHABURI, Feb 25 (TNA) - Local authorities in many provinces take precaution measures against forest fire during the upcoming dry season and have mapped out plans to prevent them from occurring. In Ratchaburi, chief of national park forest fire control station in Pak Thor district, led officials and people in the community in building earth barriers inside the park where forest fire often occurs from February to May every year. Farmers are also urged to refrain from burning grasses and wood in their farming areas. They have to inform government officials first if they have to burn weed, so officials can dive them proper advice. In the northeastern province of Loei, provincial governor on Friday presided over a public relations campaign at a school in Phu Luang district to urge local people to refrain from outdoor burning to prevent a haze problem, which could affect the natural tourist destinations and wildlife reserves in the province The governor said that legal actions would be taken against violators.
