Department of Land Transport Director-General Sanit Promwong told journalists on Wednesday that his department has revoked the driving licence of the bus driver and the bus operating licence of the company for which the driver worked, as it failed to have its driver to follow a speed limit and caused such the dreadful accident. Sanit stressed that, apart from the revocation of his driving licence effective as of December 23, the driver is prosecuted for driving recklessly and causing the damage, vowing that his department will follow up assistance for all affected people. The fatal accident took place in Ban Pang Fan of Chiang Mai's Doi Saket area, killing 13 Malaysian tourists and a Thai tour guide and injuring 11 others.
