Authority:There was no political intervention in AOT chief's dismissal

BANGKOK, October 26 (TNA) - Deputy Transport Minister Chatchart Sithipan has confirmed that there was no political intervention in the Airports of Thailand (AOT)'s board's decision on ousting AOT President Aniruth Thanomkulbutr from the company's top job, effective from November 27, 2012. Chatchart told reporters Friday that the AOT board's has the authority to terminate Aniruth's employment contract, noting that the AOT board's resolution on Thursday was aimed to improve the company's management. The deputy transport minister acknowledged, however, that the AOT board would have to take full responsibility for its decision if the change brought no improvements subsequently. According to the AOT board resolution on October 25, Somchai Sawadiphol becomes acting AOT president as of October 26 pending the appointment of the company's new top executive. (TNA)
