Award-winning Expo '1001 Inventions' in Malaysia Next Year

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- After attracting three million visitors worldwide, award-winning blockbuster exhibition '1001 Inventions' will be held in Malaysia beginning March next year for a three-year tour of the country. National Science Centre assistant director Phyllis Lam Li Wan said the Malaysian tour would be produced in partnership with Kuala Lumpur-based Science Discoveries Sdn Bhd and '1001 Inventions' which previously brought several science exhibitions to the Malaysian market, in partnership with the London Science Museum. She said '1001 Inventions: Kegemilangan Tamadun Muslim' (The Glory of Muslim Civilisation) was the Malaysian version of the ground-breaking production which wowed audiences across Europe, North America and the Middle East. Lam said this at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between 1001 Inventions and Science Discoveries Sdn Bhd on Thursday. The MoU was signed by '1001 Inventions' producer-cum-director Ahmed Salim while Science Discoveries Sdn Bhd was represented by its operations director David Oh. Ahmed said the '1001 Inventions' exhibition was named best touring exhibition of the year at the Museums and Heritage Excellence Awards last year. "The exhibition reveals achievements of the golden age of Muslim civilisation in an interactive, fun and family-friendly environment. It uses technology and interactive exhibits to relate stories of 1,000 years of science via highly-engaging interpretation," he said. -- BERNAMA
