Azerbaijan, France discuss prospects for cooperation in education field

Paris, February 26, AzerTAc Within the working visit to France, Firudin Gurbanov, deputy minister of education of Azerbaijan met with Antoine Grassin, the General Director of “Campus France” Agency. The sides discussed prospects for development of cooperation in the field of education, expansion of relations among higher education institutions and the possibility of implementing joint programs. The sides also exchanged views on preparation to mark “Azerbaijani day” in Paris, programs on academic mobility and other issues of mutual interest. Emphasizing the close cooperation of “Campus France” Agency with a number of countries, Mr. Grassin said that the Agency is interested in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan. He stressed his readiness to promote education of Azerbaijani students in France and French students in Azerbaijan, exchange of teaching staff among higher education institutions of the two countries. Azerbaijani Deputy Minister stressed the importance of relations between the two countries in the field of education, attaching great importance to cooperation in higher education. He also informed about the projects implemented in the field of education in Azerbaijan, strategic directions of higher education, implementation of the "National Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijani", “State Program for study of Azerbaijani youth abroad for 2007-2015” and preparation of new program in this field. Mr. Gurbanov said that120 Azerbaijani students had won the right to study in France, 42 of them continue their education in this country, within “State Program for study of Azerbaijani youth abroad for 2007-2015”. Azerbaijani Deputy Minister expressed hope for the development of educational relations, future cooperation and achieving successful results.
